Description:
In recognition of the many barriers faced by students who are traditionally underrepresented in medicine, our college created the Diversity Recognized, Emphasized, and Assimilated in Medicine (DREAM) program with the ultimate goal of improving diversity at our school, within osteopathic medicine, and within medical education at large. This three-day summer enrichment program is meant to prepare and empower underrepresented students with a desire to become physicians. The workshops, talks, and activities that take place during these three days were crafted to equip DREAM-ers with a thorough understanding of the medical school application process as well as practical skills to help them navigate its intricacies.
Important Application Information:
Who can be a DREAM-er:
-Any students interested in a career in healthcare are encouraged to apply
-Preference is given to those identifying as an underrepresented ethnic minority, including but not limited to Black/African America, Native American, Latino/Hispanic American, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern
-A minimum GPA of 2.75 is preferred but not required
-Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree (sophomore standing or higher as of Winter/Spring 2023) OR have a Bachelor's/Master's degree
