Rural Medicine Club Interest

57 million Americans live within rural communities. 40.5% of Georgia's total population lives within rural communities. The Rural Medicine Club's goal is to bring increased awareness to the Emory community about the complexities, challenges, and benefits of working in rural health by bringing in physicians and leading healthcare experts. Moreover, the club's goal is to be at the forefront of increasing the role of Emory in rural medicine through establishing dynamic relationships between rural communities throughout Georgia and Emory. Lastly, our goal is to begin the development of an accessible avenue for Emory students to gain exposure to clinical experience within rural communities."
