The Giving Kitchen is in need of volunteers who can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, or Vietnamese to help with their upcoming Pop-Up Doc event.
Pop Up Doc is a health and stability fair offering assistance to food service workers. Hosted twice a year by the Giving Kitchen, the most recent Pop Up Doc gave access to 140 food service workers and their children the opportunity to receive free medical and health services.
This no charge event gives food service workers the opportunity to receive FREE medical, health care they often can’t afford to both help and prevent health issues. Not only were 80% of the participants at the most recent Pop-Up Doc uninsured, industry workers often lack the time and connections necessary to manage their health and multiple appointments. This event gives them the opportunity to do it all in one place with one quick visit. They leave, armed with connections to local resources to continue maintaining their health for long-lasting impact.
The next Pop-Up Doc is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th at the Chamblee Civic Center in Doraville and close to Buford Highway. The hours are 8:00am-6:00pm, but they are happy to have volunteers who can dedicate any amount of time. If you are interested in dedicating your time to this meaningful event, please email the Giving Kitchen Case Manager, Kaitlynn Mockett.
