Clinical Research Analyst to the Shoulder and Elbow, Pediatrics, Foot and Ankle, Spine, Trauma, PM & R and Hand Services at the Medical University of South Carolina (Seven Positions Total)

The mission of the MUSC Department of Orthopaedics and Physical Medicine is to provide regional, national, and international leadership in the advancement of care for problems affecting Orthopaedics. This mission is based on advancement of knowledge through research, improvement of care through education of physicians, and clinical management of all problems affecting Orthopaedics.
The goal of the MUSC Department of Orthopaedics and Physical Medicine is to be the preeminent Orthopaedics and Physical Medicine center in the world.
Job Description
This full-time position is best suited for recent college graduates interested in pursuing a career in medicine. The applicant should have a strong academic record, must be creative, self-driven, dependable, and motivated to learn. The position offers the opportunity for education and firsthand learning in the medical field.
The candidate should expect to:
- Work closely with the Orthopaedics Faculty, and MUSC Orthopaedics Surgery Residents.
- Gain familiarity working with clinical databases and grant-based research.
- Consent patients and collect data in the clinic 1-2 days a week; observe surgery in the operating room several times a week.
- Manage ongoing research projects.
- Experience the clinical, operative, and academic aspects of medicine.
Responsibilities
- Supporting physicians with ongoing studies, projects, videos, papers, and presentations
- Drafting Institutional Review Board documentation for research studies
- Drafting grant proposals for internal and extramural funding announcements
- Completing data analysis and manuscript preparation for scientific publication
- Recruiting patients and collecting data for research studies.
- Gathering patient images, X-rays, as well as operative and clinical notes and videos
- Assembling surgeon’s presentations and case reports
