Clarkston Unity Health Clinic (CUHC) is a free clinic run by Emory medical students serving uninsured patients in Clarkston, GA. This clinic, located in the “Ellis Island of the South” provides primary care to a predominantly refugee and immigrant patient-population with many barriers to healthcare. The clinic runs every Saturday from 8:30 am- 2:30 pm. If you are interested in volunteering, you can sign up at the link below to join the email list.
Volunteers on the email list will be contacted monthly about volunteer opportunities.
In your vital role, you will:
- Serve a diverse, underserved patient population with unique backgrounds and languages
- Collaborate interprofessionally with providers, community health workers, and clinic staff in-house to
improve patient care and outcomes
-Gain insight into the operation of a free-clinic
-Perform clinic intake and check-out procedures, ensuring patients are eligible for our clinic, collect background medical information and can attend necessary follow-up.
-Have access to current Emory medical, pharmacy and nursing students who can answer questions you might have about applying into healthcare graduate program.
