Dr. David Meltzer at the University of Chicago Medicine is currently hiring for two vacancies in the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) 1 position. This job is accessible through your school’s Handshake page, and the main application portal is linked here.
A brief description of the role:
Clinical Research Coordinators are an integral part of the research team. Their primary duties include recruiting patients in the study, collecting survey responses, training and supervising junior members of the team such as AmeriCorps members and Research Assistants, creating progress reports, and other duties as needed. This is a spectacular opportunity to gain more exposure to patient interactions, clinical trials in healthcare, and learn about hospital systems. This position is best suited for individuals interested in pursuing medicine or healthcare policy, but we are open to hiring from all backgrounds.
More About C4P:
The Comprehensive Care, Community, and Culture Program (C4P) is a large-scale randomized controlled trial funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) at the University of Chicago Medicine. At C4P, we are investigating whether providing primary care to high-risk patients from the same physician in the clinic and the hospital improves a patient’s healthcare outcomes and lowers their rate of hospitalizations. Our goal is to recruit 3,000 patients by 2024.
