Volunteer Opportunity: Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Summer Camp

Camp is a week-long commitment during which volunteers stay in cabins with campers and participate in the activities with them. By volunteering, you would be helping to facilitate opportunities and relationships that often are not available to these campers outside of camp.  You will have the opportunity to gain experience relevant to your coursework and career, while participating in service learning. We welcome all applications but do have an especially high need for male volunteers to work with our male campers.

Camps are hosted at Camp Twin Lakes in Winder, GA and Rutledge, GA, which are both 30-45 minutes outside of Atlanta. Housing and meals are provided while at camp, and volunteers must provide their own transportation to camp. Volunteers are required to complete mandatory training(s) prior to camp.

In addition to volunteering at camp, Children’s offer a summer practicum where students attend 2-3 weeklong camps and come to the North Druid Hills office 2-3 days per week throughout the summer. It is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the behind-the-scenes programming that goes into camp. Housing and meals are provided while at camp, but not for the duration of the summer when they are in the office. Students must provide their own transportation. If you are interested in the practicum, contact Brian or Anna.
