Health and Safety Protocols Updated for Testing Year 2022
Protecting examinee health and safety is a priority for the AAMC. Working with
AAMC medical and infectious disease experts and our testing partner, Pearson
VUE, we have updated
the health and safety protocols in test centers for the 2022 testing year.
Pearson VUE test centers will follow local health and safety guidance and masks
will continue to be required in all U.S. and U.S. territory test centers. You
can find more details about the protocols in place at your specific test center
on Pearson VUE’s website.
We will continue to closely monitor the conditions of the pandemic and local
health and safety guidance throughout the year, and the AAMC may make
adjustments as necessary to maintain a safe testing environment. We encourage
you to reach out to us with any questions at mcatsafety@aamc.org.

Tips for Feb. 8 Registration
#1 Save time
Fill out the first five tabs of information in the MCAT
Registration System before opening day. It will save you about 5-10 minutes
on opening day and will take you straight to scheduling when you log in. If you
use autofill, please be sure to double check that your name matches the first
and last names on your government ID.
Learn more in this brief video about the registration
system.
#2 Apply for AAMC Fee Assistance Program benefits early
The 2022 AAMC Fee Assistance Program application will open on Jan. 31. If
you want to use your benefits for registration, learn
more now about what you need to apply and submit your materials early.
AAMC Fee Assistance Program benefits are not retroactive.
#3 Understand how the waiting room works
More examinees schedule an exam on opening days of MCAT
registration than on any other day, especially in the first few hours.
When the system first opens, you can expect a longer line with wait times of an
hour or more.
The good news is we have a waiting room that will show you your place in line
and include an estimated wait time until it’s your turn to register. We can
also hold your place in line so you don’t need to wait by your computer or
mobile device. Learn more about the waiting room and how it works.
- There is no advantage to logging into the registration system more than 10 minutes before noon on registration day. At 11:50 a.m. ET, the system will randomly assign anyone already logged in with a place in line to register. If you log in after 11:50 a.m. ET, you will be behind the randomly assigned group.
- Don’t open multiple browsers or refresh your waiting room page. This will not give you an advantage and may result in a longer wait time for you.
- Don’t share your waiting room Queue-it ID with others. It can bump you or them out of the system, put you in the back of the waiting line, and can cause scheduling delays.
