The UC Davis Health Professions Post-Bac Program application for our January 2022 cohort is due by September 15th on PostBacCAS.
Our unique 12-month academic enhancing post-bac program is designed for those pursuing any health profession. Students will take roughly 45 units of upper-division science coursework taught by UC Davis faculty from January 2022-December 2022. Students will have access to wrap around advising and test prep services upon completion of the program. An academic plan will be created with an advisor based on previous coursework completed, needed coursework and student interests. An agreed upon one year plan will be completed at the Program Orientation.
Test preparation, including books for the MCAT, GRE, DAT, TEAS, or OAT is built into the program at no additional cost. Our students are also provided with intense application preparation to help them showcase the value they bring to the healthcare field. In addition, students will take seminar courses in Learning & Test Taking Strategies, Narrative Medicine, Medical Terminology & Application Preparation.
Students will select one of two tracks: Clinical or Health Equity/One Health. During the summer quarter, students will become either EMT-certified or participate in a hands-on public health learning opportunity. Click here to learn more about our Tracks.
Students who need to repeat Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or Physics will be allowed to repeat ONE course in each of those areas. We call those Reinforcement Courses. Other possible course selections include but are not limited to: Genetics, Cell Biology, Advanced Physiology, Cancer Biology, Immunology, Clinical Hematology, Microbiology, and more. Check out our website (hpa.ucdavis.edu/postbac) and brochure to learn more.
