know, conflicts of interest and bias surface at the individual and
institutional levels throughout the healthcare ecosystem. There may be
monetary rewards, political pressures, competitive pressures, job
security stresses, unconscious biases, or other issues that lead to
decisions that may not be in the interest of the common good. That's
why next week's colloquium Conflicts of Interest in
Healthcare: Opportunities for Self-Reflection and Action is
