Decolonizing Global Health

 


Decolonizing Global Health is a five-part series which focuses on global health, colonialism, and how to foster change in global health research, education, and practice. The third session, "Decolonizing Global Health Research Partnerships," will feature Dr. Portia Mutevedzi, Site Lead, South Africa, Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance Network (CHAMPS); Dr. Sydney Spangler, Associate Professor, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, Emory University and Co-Investigator and Co-Lead of Research Activities, EMPHASIS Project; Dr. Ikechukwu Ogbuanu, Site Lead and Co-Director, Sierra Leone, Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance Network (CHAMPS); and Dr. James Lavery, Chair in Global Health Ethics and Professor, Hubert Department of Global Health, Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Venkat Narayan, Professor, Hubert Department of Global Health and Epidemiology, Rollins School of Public Health and Director of the Emory Diabetes Research Center at Emory University. 

Registration Info: You may register for the panel discussion and/or the breakout sessions. Separate registration is required for each. The panel discussion will be recorded and made available on our website. Two breakout session times are available. The breakout sessions will include a guided discussion about suggested readings (readings are available for download via the EGHI website - linked below). The panel discussion and breakout sessions are open to the public.
