Summer Program at Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute

The Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI) Summer Student Research Program is designed to provide an unsurpassed opportunity for students from underrepresented backgrounds interested in careers within science and medicine to immerse themselves in the world of basic and/or clinical research. During the 9-week internship, students will be paired with one or two CHORI principal investigators to work on a research project and present their findings at the end of the summer. Interns will also attend weekly seminars with leading researchers.

Housing for students is not provided on site during the program. Undergraduate students supported by the NIH fellowship whose permanent residence is outside the Bay Area, may receive additional support for housing and/or travel. Interns are paid a stipend during participation.
