Global Public
Service Academies (GPSA) is an educational organization that works in collaboration with health authorities in Belize, Guatemala, Thailand and rural USA. Their Medical Fellows program is a long-term volunteering program for college graduates interested in volunteering in underserved settings. As part of the program, fellows receive basic accommodations in a homestay plus language and healthcare training. The program gives graduates the opportunity to work alongside physicians, nurses and community health workers while experiencing the challenges and opportunities present in global settings.
GPSA now offers a 9-month and a 12-month volunteering track: the first one for those interested in visiting 3 different sites and the other for those who want to stay long-term in one place. To learn more, check out their brochure.
