The 9th annual Southeastern Medical Scientist Symposium (SEMSS) --co-sponsored by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Emory, and Vanderbilt-- will take place October 12-13, 2019 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL.

Based on eligibility, SEMSS Undergraduate Student Travel Awards will be given to undergraduate students who are interested in exploring careers as physician-scientists. These travel awards are funded by an R15 grant from the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIH-NIGMS) and will consist of a $175 stipend to offset registration, housing (reservations made through the Physician Scientist Development Office), and other travel expenses. Monetary award is given on site after check in.
