The University of Queensland School of Medicine partnered with the Ochsner Health System in Louisiana to create an exceptional medical education program for outstanding students. The aim of the program is to allow students from the United States to benefit from an international educational experience yet still receive sufficient clinical training to meet registration requirements to practice medicine in both the US and Australia.

The UQ-Ochsner MD program is a four year degree, of which the first two years (pre-clinical) is spent at UQ's Queensland campuses (Brisbane) and the final two years (clinical) is spent at UQ's Ochsner Clinical School (New Orleans).
