Head injuries are one of the most common causes of disability and death. Injuries can be as mild as a bump, bruise (contusion), or cut on the head, or can be moderate to severe such as concussions and traumatic brain injuries. Approximately 1.5 million Americans per year sustain a brain injury through slips and falls, violence, accidents, and sports-related injuries, which can result in long-term disabilities or death.
What can you do if you find one suffering from a head injury before help arrives? How can you help to minimize the damage and increase one's recovery?
