MedServe is a service program for upcoming and recent graduates interested in pursing a career in medicine. MedServe is currently recruiting its fourth cohort of Fellows, and they are seeking high potential students interested in making an impact in healthcare.
MedServe has worked with North Carolina physician leaders to develop a program that places future physicians in clinics with “rock star” primary care physicians across rural and underserved communities in the state. As Fellows, students will work in both a clinical role (e.g. a medical assistant) and community role (e.g. quality improvement projects). It is a two-year program, modeled after Teach for America ("Teach for America for medicine").
