Chicago EYES on Cancer Summer Program

The Chicago EYES on Cancer program offers cancer research training for two consecutive summers (8 weeks each) to talented high school and undergraduate students interested in careers in biomedicine. The research experience is the core of the program: hands-on, full-time immersion in a cancer research laboratory under the supervision of an established, funded investigator.

Depending on the specific project and mentor, students will develop an understanding of cancer causes, treatment of cancer, imaging, molecular and biochemical underpinnings of cancer, immunology, engineering, biomarker development, development of anticancer agents, experimental cancer therapeutics, and/or cancer disparities. Students will also participate in cancer research seminars, skill and career development workshops, present at culminating research symposia, and engage in monthly enrichment activities throughout the school year.

A $3,500 stipend is provided. Current Freshmen and Sophomores are eligible to apply. This is a commuter program - housing and travel are not provided.
