The Engagement Volunteer Application for Emory HOPE
(Hospice Outreach, Perspectives, and Engagement) is now available. This
application is for students who want to have direct-patient interaction
at the hospice center.
Emory
HOPE is a student organization that seeks to grant pre-health students a
greater perspective on
palliative care, life, and mortality through engaging hospice work.
Serving terminally-ill patients and
their families demonstrates the utmost commitment to healthcare, and
allows volunteers the opportunity to grow in their listening skills,
cultural competency,
resiliency, empathy and compassion.
Please keep in mind that becoming a long-term volunteer at hospice is a serious commitment in weekly visits. There is a limited number of volunteer positions for direct-patient interaction at hospice. Don't miss the chance for a rare opportunity to gain exposure to another aspect of healthcare at Emory and participate in a meaningful service experience.
