Online Symposium Opportunity for Pre-Health Students

 


PhysioCamp is holding a virtual pre-health symposium on Saturday, July 30th from 2-4 pm EST. This event is free, online, and open to all. (The deadline to register is July 28th, 2022)

The goal of the pre-health symposium is to provide insights into the different branches within the healthcare field. Featuring speakers from five different states and five different healthcare fields(see attached poster), attendees will have the opportunity to hear about their experiences working in their respective fields. There will also be an interactive panel for attendees to ask questions. 


  • We are extremely honored to have our keynotes speaker, Dr. Lisa Moreno-Walton, speak on the importance of research and preparing to apply to professional schools. Dr. Moreno is a native New Yorker who earned her Masters degree in Clinical Research at Tulane University and served as Director of Research and Director of Diversity in her Department at the LSU School of Medicine. She is also the Immediate Past President of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and Regional Faculty Director for the Latino Medical Student Association. Dr. Moreno has over 600 invited presentations and has published about 60 journal articles, 10 textbook chapters and has authored two textbooks on Diversity and Inclusion in Quality Patient Care. She has won multiple awards for excellence in teaching and has taught in over 30 countries around the world.
  • We are also extremely honored to present our diverse panel of five speakers, all of whom are distinguished individuals from their respective fields: 
    • Dr. Jennifer Awuku, a PGY1 pathology resident at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
    • Dr. Christopher Potts, an orthodontist at Potts Orthodontics in Goldsboro, North Carolina. 
    • Dr. Jason Luc, an Outpatient Physical Therapist at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. 
    • Anthony Mitchell, a 4th year optometry student at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. 
    • Julia Ni, a registered nurse at Banner-University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.
